Fécamp
Fécamp est un ancien port morutier. Son histoire repose principalement sur celle de la pêche et de son port fondé au XIe siècle. Au XIXe siècle et au début du XXe siècle, Fécamp a une importante activité de pêche morutière : les Terre-Neuvas.
Premier port morutier français, cette activité se pratiqua de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle jusque dans les années 1970.

Fecamp is a former codfisher port. Its history is mainly based on the fishing and its port founded in the eleventh century. In the nineteenth and early twentieth century, Fecamp has an important activity of cod fishery: the "Terre-Neuvas" (men going to Newfoundland)

From William the first (son of Rollo and his concubine Poppa), Fecamp will become a favorite residence of the Dukes of Normandy, even if Rouen is the capital. And for many years, Fecamp and the Abbey will play an important role in the history of Normandy.
Dès Guillaume 1er (fils de Rollon et de sa concubine Poppa), Fécamp va devenir une des résidences préférées des ducs de Normandie, même si Rouen reste la capitale. Et pendant de nombreuses années, Fécamp et son Abbaye vont jouer un rôle important dans l'histoire de la Normandie.
La Belle Poule est mise en chantier au chantier naval de Fécamp fin juillet 1931. La construction sur les plans des navires destinés à la grande pêche sur les bancs islandais dure 6 mois. Le lundi 8 février 1932, la Belle Poule est lancée. La Belle Poule quitte Fécamp le jeudi 12 mai. Elle participe depuis à la formation des élèves officiers de l’Ecole Navale.
La Belle Poule is start of construction at the shipyard at Fecamp late July 1931. The construction is built upon plans of vessels for deep-sea fishing on the banks of Iceland and last 6 months. On Monday, February 8, 1932, the Belle Poule was launched. La Belle Poule leaves Fécamp Thursday, May 12. She has participated in the training of cadets at the Naval Academy.

Elaborated in Fécamp, known and appreciated (in moderation) throughout the world : the liquor "Benedictine." His recipe is taken up by Alexandre Legrand, who founded the company in the nineteenth century the same name.
