Pont de Tancarville
Entre Rouen et Le Havre, il n’existait aucun moyen fixe pour franchir la Seine. Dès 1935, la Chambre de Commerce du Havre demande à l’état la concession de la construction d’un pont à Tancarville, limite entre la Seine fluviale et la mer.
Le projet est retenu en 1954, les travaux commencent en 1956 et se terminent en juillet 1959.
Le pont est ouvert à la circulation routière le 3 juillet 1959. A l ‘époque, il est le plus grand d’Europe.

Between Rouen and Le Havre, there was no way fixed to cross the Seine. By 1935, the Havre Chamber of Commerce request to the state the right to build a bridge in Tancarville boundary between the Seine river and the sea.
The project is being detained in 1954, work began in 1956 and ended in July 1959.
The bridge was opened to traffic July 3, 1959. At the time, it is the largest in Europe.
