Le Havre - La ville reconstruite

Inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'Humanité par l'UNESCO en 2005, le Centre-ville reconstruit du Havre (1945 - 1964) est l'œuvre de l'architecte Auguste Perret (et de ses collaborateurs) qui se vit confier par le Ministère de la Reconstruction et de l'Urbanisme, la reconstruction de la ville du Havre après sa destruction à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Registered on the list of UNESCO World Heritage in 2005, Le Havre city center was rebuilt by the architect August Perret (and his associates) after the destructions due to the Second World War. The reconstruction toke place from 1945 to 1964 and was organized by the French “Ministère de la Reconstruction et de l’Urbanisme” (Ministry of Rebuilding and Town Planning).

Œuvre des architectes Auguste Perret et Jacques Tournant, l'hôtel de ville est inauguré en 1958, le théâtre attenant en 1967 et l’extension nord en 1987. La tour de 18 étages et 72 mètres de haut évoque un beffroi.
En 2008, Le Havre célèbre le 50ème anniversaire de son Hôtel de Ville.

The new town hall was design by Auguste Perret and Jacques Tournant and was inaugurated in 1958. A theater was added in 1967 and an extension in 1987. The 18 level tower (72 m height) look like a belfry.
In 2008, it was the 50th anniversary of Le Havre town hall with fests.
